My new painting: The Girl.

The Girl. Oil on Canvas.

The Girl. Oil on Canvas.

Here is my new painting “The Girl”. It is a variation on my last painting, and done on a very much larger canvas…….and what a difference it has made. I realised part way through     my painting of “The Face” that I would have been happier to have continued down, and wished I had used a larger canvas in the first place. Luckily I still had two big canvases here from my last canvas hunt with a friend. So even before “The Face” was complete, I started  this new painting, based on the first, but containing a lower face too. I really like the way one of the leaves of the extra plant forms her lower lip……and overall I think this is a much more successful painting than the first one, with a better composition; although as always, it’s a matter of personal choice. I hope you  like it .

I have promised myself that my next painting will be in a completely different style, and I plan on moving away from the colours I have used for a while now. I have one more large canvas left before I have to go foraging for some more, so that will be what I will use. I do have a few smaller ones in various sizes and shapes, but really it is the large ones I enjoy working on the most. I´m not sure what to paint yet, so I´m hoping inspiration will have arrived by the time I have completed all my online work…..

Another new “The Girl” was created this week too. This one was not done in oil, but was created by God. And God being  a bit of a master at this sort of thing, has done a really fantastic job. Here she is:

She is the first grand-daughter of my cousin Steve. What a wonderful early christmas present for them all. So gorgeous……..

So, my day will continue more or less as normal today, and I´m still in the mood for painting. Yay, because once christmas is upon us, there will not be nearly so much work done, and I´m looking forward to the break.

If you haven´t already read my Sunday Praise  yesterday (and shame on you for not reading my blog everyday) please do take a look at it now. It´s a big plug for an orphanage , and  I am really hoping that they will get some benefit from the extra publicity that the post may bring. You can read it here .

Have a good day everyone,

Judy xxx
